How do you get rid of the cracks in the corner of your mouth? (Angular Cheilitis)?

My lips are starting to get cracked at the corners. It hurts when I smile or when I open my mouth wide to eat something. It looks like small paper cuts. I’ve been doing a lot of research on this, because it’s pretty irritating.

I found out it is called Angular Cheilitis. I’ve seen the most common treatments for this include: B-Complex vitamins, a 1% hydro cortisone cream, Vitamin-E oil and Tea Tree oil, lanoline creams, a Z-Pac anti biotic, drinking more water, switching toothpastes, an anti-fungal cream, and not licking your lips.

Which of these works best? Which methods don’t work? Are there any other ways to treat the cracks at the corner of your mouth? I’m going to make a run to the store in the morning and want to know what to try.

I use a good lip salve when I get one. Sometimes helps right away and sometimes it takes time. Not sure anything is always a quick cure. Dont lick it or pick at it

i think it’s from lack of vitamin c, but not sure.. dab a little Vaseline on the corners 2 stop the cracking open.. might take a few days 2 a week 2 heal.. bummer eh ~
